Anorexia/bulimia - ed-nos???!

Question: Anorexia/bulimia - ed-nos!?!?!?
apparently you have ed nos if you don't meet the specific requirements for anorexia or bulimia, but nobody seems to have heard of it!?
Can anyone shed some light!? - give opinions/explaination or experience with it!?

Answers:
Eating disorder Not Otherwise Specified is used for patients who have symptoms for either Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa, but fail to meet the requirements for diagnosis of DSM IV disorders!. Here are some examples:

- Binge-eating disorder (like bulimia, but they do not try to compensate with vomiting, laxatives, etc!.)!. This is an ED NOS for now, but will probably be included in DSM V!.
- Bulimia without swallowing
- Bulimia with infrequent binges (less than twice a week)
- Anorexia with normal weight
- Anorexia with normal menses
- Patients who engage in vomiting or other inappropriate weight control behavior after eating small amounts of food, but still retain normal weight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ed-nos people chew&spit!. or they eat like 300 calories per day and couple of times in a month they eat a candy bar and then purge it!. well, usually ed-nos is a combination of multiple eating disorders!. Like compulsive overeating and anorexia (which sounds unrealistic)!. For example, a girl, who is normal weight, starves herself for a week, then she gives up and binges for the next entire week (without any purging method)!. and then she starves herself for another week!. ans so on!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

eating disorder not otherwise specified, it's basically when you're still obsessed with food and weight and it's interfering with your life even though you're not severely underweight or throwing up constantly!. it's not taken as seriously bc it doesn't affect you physically as much as the other ones, but i consider it just as unhealthy psychologically!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
