Eliminate Late Night Snacking?

I get the urge to eat and snack late at night and I hear that is very unhealthy (according to nutritionalist). How can I reduce my late night cravings. Advice?


Answers:

Make sure you eat a good sized and healthy dinner, avoid something with alot of carbs and eat more protien, carbs fill you up fast but the are empty calories, meaning they fill you up for about an hour then your body wants more and you get hungry again. Chinese food is a good example, ever notice that about an hour after you it your hungry again? Try not to eat past 8pm, they later you eat the slower your metabolism is and that contributes to gaining weight. Last resort take a big glass of iced water to bed with you, try drinking water to fill up stomach space, and it may just be a mental thing, try eating ice instead of a snack (When I say mental, I mean you may subconciously like to get up in the middle of the night and eat, so ween yourself of this habit by eating ice when you get up.
