Increasing jogging endurance and speed?

just yesterday me and my friends were doing a 2 mile jog( i should include this is my first time jogging), we jogged a mile in like maybe 5 minutes. And then me and my friends started getting tired except for this one guy. He just kept on jogging and in a like 30 seconds he was about 150 feet away from us. Any tips on increasing my endurance and speed? Like how long should i train and how many times? Also, does what you wear affect your endurance and speed?

if you have a treadmill or whatever, outside, try taking it one step at a time. one day, try running one mile and the next add half a mile or one more if you can and keep doing that slowly, and make sure you stretch well before you do and eat something healthy prior to the running. if you keep adding more length to your running, you are slowly increasing your endurance. sometimes it might depend on your slow twitch fibers or fast twitch fibers depending on which one you have mroe.
