He doesn't want me to have operation?!

Question: He doesn't want me to have operation!?
I am very over weight and have a lot of health problems because of it, i have been fat all my life and have been bullied and picked on throughout the years!.
I have done many a diet and can lose some but it never lasts and the most i have lost is 4 stone, diet pills from the doc didnt help at all!.
Now my doc has suggested a weight loss op ( not the band ) and he thinks its a good way to go but my partner is dead against it and wants me to move out if i do which is making my decision a lot more difficult, his reasons are that he doesnt want to watch me suffer and he thinks i should be able to do it with diet and exerciseand he has enough to worry about!.
This is the hardest decision of my life, anyone have any thoughts on this!.
I also have a 13 year old son!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

while the surgery might prove to be helpful!.!. the honest answer is why haven't you lost it by yourself yet!? if there is nothing medically wrong with you that prevents you from losing weight!.!. you should have!. not trying to sound harsh, but as a medical professional many people get these surgeries!.!. don't change their life and are in worse shape afterwards!.
perhaps this man has a point about you proving the lifetyle change before the surgery!.
in the end you'll have to do what you want to do, but do realize that your choice effect other people (like your son, and your s/o) and they will have choices of their own regarding your choice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Whether or not you have the operation, it has to be your decision & based on what you think is best for you!. It is a life-changing thing that can't be decided on by anyone else!. I think he is being very selfish & is maybe a little insecure himself!. Maybe he thinks if you lose all the weight & become more confident that you will not want him any more!.
Write a list of pros & cons & take the time to decide what is best for you!. Just remember that ANY surgery carries a risk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why are you going for the easy option, where you do not have to make your own decisions !?!?
You do not say if you have ever exercised or not!.
Try looking at why you put on weight in the first place, was it parental influence (bad eating habits) that you have carried on doing into your adult life, or was it something that happened to you and you eat for comfort !?!?
Don't ask a surgeon to make things right for you, do it for yourself and your child!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

he need to understand that your having heatlth problems and that diets arnt woking and its going to get worse if you dont do anything about it! i think you should go with it!. i husband should stand by your side!. having a son makes it difficult too as well but its actually give you more time to be with your son and do active things!.!.!.to get your slef better and feel better about your self!.!.i think you should have a long talk with your son and see what he thinks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

he doesn't want you to suffer!? aren't you health problems and being picked on & bullied suffering too!?your dr wouldn't suggest it unless he thought it would be good for you right!?I would do it you need to lose the weight so you will be healthy for your son!.I have diet dozens of diets all failed i'm currently seeing a dr!. for my weight ,diet & exercise alone didn't work for me!.Sorry, but you need to do what is best for you !!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

is the operation life threatening!?
i know ur partner is concerned but hes also coming across a little selfish if the op makes u happy n feel good abt urself then he should support u, u shouldnt have to go through ur whole life being bullied n stuff u deserve the chance to be happy
if ur not losing enough weight through excercise and diet then the op is the best way the longer u delay the more damage will be done
good luck xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Personally, I'm against all unnecessary surgery, but in the end it's your choice, I would give it all i had once last try before going that far!.

Also, if you are not exercising and still eating as much as you were previously then you will only end up fat again!

That's pretty risky statistics you put up there!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if your Dr suggest it and you want it then your boyfriend is wrong for not supporting you!. He might be acting this way because he is worried you will lose weight and look to good for him!. I would say talk to your Dr about it some more I am sure this will help you become healthier and you will also feel better about yourself GO FOR IT GOOD LUCK TO YOUWww@Answer-Health@Com

hello! operation is not the answer!. just read about those stars who went under surgery then later on gained the weight back!.!.!.don't waste your money on operation!.

if you're really determined to loose the weight, you will even if no one is telling you to do so!. just do it for your son if this would help you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do what makes YOU happy!. You've gone about trying things the right way and they haven't worked for you, there's really no reason you should be bullied into not doing something that can make you happier and healthier!.
Maybe have him go talk to the doctor with you to help him understand things!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe sit down and show him the risks of the surgery vs!. the risks of staying very overweight!.!.!. and in the end you need to do whats best for you, not whats comforting to him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have to agree with your partner on this, Lisa!. Please LOOK UP the Side Effects of gastric bypass surgery on the top of the RISKS!.

You should be able to lose weight without surgery and pills!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

4 stones!?!? how much weight is that"""Www@Answer-Health@Com

I totally agree with your partner!. To cut out
part of your stomach just to force you to eat less, is like cutting off your head because
you breath too much!. It is senseless and
all it does is give the surgeon a lot of money!. This is a lose, lose situation!. Noone knows down the line the actual mortality rate of these patients!.
A person does not lose their appetite,
they are just forced not to eat so much!.
Some can't do it and slowly eat more and more!. The stomach is only about 1/2 as
large!. I believe the risk factors you are
quoting are greatly exaggerated!.
There is no reason in the world why you
can't lose weight!. All you have to do is
convince yourself that you ALREADY HAVE HAD THE SURGERY, and you
adopt a lifestyle that eats smaller portions,
and more times per day, and match that
with exercise, and hypnotherapy would help
a lot also!.
You are caught in a mental cycle that
tells you constantly "you can't lose weight"!.
that is a damnable lie!. You can sit down
and plan out your meals for a month!.
Stick to the plan!. Don't head for diet plans,
you know what to cut out!. We are talking
about your life, your health and your future
happiness!.
Don't be a victim anymore!. You are in
control of your body!. Make it do WHAT YOU want it to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What he is thinking is correct!. Operating for weight loosing is not very good and only feasible solution!. On the contrary diet control and regular exercise is the real actual solution for permanent weight loss!.
experts agree that the best way to reach a healthy weight is to follow a sensible eating plan and regular physical activity!. For safe and effective weight loss program adopt following!.
Healthy eating plans that reduce calories, but do not rule out any group!.Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, Eat high fiber foods to help you feel full!.Reduce your fat
consumption!. Switch to non-fat or low-fat products!.Eat only when you are hungry and enjoy the taste, texture and smell of the food!.
Eating healthy will not help in reducing weight but regular physical activity is equally important, Be physically active for at least 30 minutes [60 minutes is much more better] most of the week!.
Slow and steady weight loss of about 1 to 2 lbs per week is the right amount to loose!.
Remember, if you want to loose your weight, Don't depend upon only DIETS,Only DEVICES, and DRUGS!.
Keep in mind that '' THE DISTANCE IS NOTHING!. IT IS THE ONLY FIRST STEP THAT IS DIFFICULT!.''Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is a relatively dangerous procedure that has no guarantees for your life or your long term weight loss!. Many people have gained the weight back--primarily b/c the reason you were overweight to begin with is still there!. Until you adress why you are overeating and what you can do to change that!.!.!.!.until you can consistently eat less, exercise more, and make overall healthy decisions, your husband is correct!.!.!.!.!.Anyone can lose weight!.!.!.!.!.IF they do the work to lose the weight!.!.!.!.this isn't a diet, but a lifestyle change!. Diet pills and not eating don't make you lose weight!.!.!.!.!.they make you feel more hungry and are not long term solutions to your problem!. I would seriously seek a long term lifestyle solution!.!.!.for both your sake and for the sake of your family!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
