Question: How do you get your 1000mg of calcium a day!?!?
I do not eat dairy, can I take a 1000mg calcium supplement!? Do you get your calcium this way!?!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not recommended to take a supplement giving the full vaule!. Simply because; if you take 1000mg via supplement you still have to eat the rest of the day so you will get more than the 1000mg!.
2!.5grams over the 1000mg calcium intake may produce:
drowsiness, constipation and cause calcium to deposit in tissues such as the liver and kidneys!.

If you take the supplement get a calcium supplement that offers 40-50% of the recommended daily value!.

I suggest getting calcium from your foods:
soy milk = 300mg per 1 cup absorbing 31%
tofu = 260 mg per 1 cup absorbing 31%
broccoli (cooked) = 72mg per 1 cup absorbing 61%
dried beans = 120 mg per 1 cup absorbing 24%
Vitamin D helps with the absorption of Calcium and if you are drinking soy, it's been fortified with Vitamin D already!

Supplements!. I personally like Viactiv, they taste good and they seem to be most effective, I lose weight when I take enough calcium from Viactiv, but other brands (other types of calcium that is, there are many different forms of calcium!. Viactiv is calcium carbonate, though most people say calcium citrate is the best, the calcium carbonate seems to work best with my body!.) I take Viactiv Flavor Glides, 500mg, two times a day!.
