Cheerleading/Tumbling help!?

Alright, I'm a soon to be sophomore at a new school and I am considering cheerleading.

I used to do gymnastics when I was younger, but since I haven't done much of anything.

I'm curvy, 5'3", 120/125 lbs. I'm pretty flexible when I work on it for a while.

Is it possible to get on the Varsity Cheerleading team, if I have little experience, but work very hard the next couple months?

Is there any advice you can give me for trying out or getting prepped for tryouts?

What exactly is tumbling? And how can I practice it?

Also, what is a flyer?


(I've been told to take tumbling classes. What are these and are they worth the money? -- They're pretty expensive. And should I try the private classes first?)

I need a lot of help as you can see, ha, and any help is appreciated.

I think the best thing for you to do is to hire a private instructor. i was a cheerleader all through highschool and part of college. i also owned a gymnastics and cheerleading center for 8 years and i did private coaching for hundreds of cheerleaders.

i just think taking a class with other students will not get you the personal coaching you need. yes, it is absolutely possible for you to make the varsity cheerleading team!!! you have to be positive and work you behind off. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
