Question: Do I need to lose weight, and if so, how much, and how should I do it!?!?
Okay, I am a 14 year old girl, and I weigh about 135lbs (9 and a half stone) and am about 5ft3!. I often think that I look quite dumpy (especially around my thighs and stomach) and would really like to lose some weight!. My meals aren't too unhealthy, but I tend to buy food and snack on sweets and bread!. I am at boarding school, so sometimes this can be hard not to snack, as I often feel a bit lonely!. I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me some tips on how to lose some weight, because at the moment this is making me quite unhappy!.

Instead of snacking on things with alot of sugar and calories, snack on cheeses and nuts and wheat crackers and fruits and things of that sort!. You should also start participating in some physical activities, and try to cut down on things like white bread, white pasta, white potatoes, and white rice!. Substitue it for wheat bread, wheat pasta, sweet potatoes, and brown rice!. I don't know how the whole boarding school thing works, but if you dont have access to these kind of foods, just incorporate a little more physical activity in your life!. You only need to loose weight if you think you need to loose weight, and if you are unhappy, then you should!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i no how u feel!. Try drinking A LOT of water and getting a good amount of protein, this will keep you from getting too hungry for snacks!. but if u need a snack have something healthy like!.!.!. pickles, apples, oranges, low-fat yogurt, and even popcorn ( not with a lot of butter and stuff though, like kettle corn microwave bags) Oh and EXCERCISE but dont be too obsessed

Go for a walk and swing your arms when you walk!. This helps slim out your waistline!. Get an exercise ball and you can really workout your abs with it!. Try to eat less sugar and bread by munching on carrots and some fruit!. Find things to keep you busy so that you don't snack so much!. If you want to lose weight, stop eating for a week, and when you resume eating, eat healthy!. DONT avoid carbs as so many diets suggest - carbs are energy! You are 14, so w out a pic, i would say, have fun with school and friends and dont think about your weight!Www@Answer-Health@Com

exercise every day, cut down on calories and sugar!.watch what you eat, or eat smaller portions throughout the day!. and set a goal weight!.

Instead of snacking on junk food, snack on apples, grapes, bananas, ect!. anything fruit or veg!

My daughter gained weight when she went to private school!.
If you just watch what you eat, you will be fine!. Try to stay away from the breads and chips!. If you can, snack on fruits or nuts and try to go for walks each day!. Can you try out for any sports or extaciricular activities!? You will be occupied and be less likely to snack!. My daughter started playing seasonal sports and going to school events!. She is tall for her age but she is now 5'10 and has lost down to 135 lbs!. You are young!. Enjoy life and dont worry too much about your weight!. I gained some weight when I was about your age!. all you have to do is ask a friend to help you quit eating most unhealthy foods!. you can have a snack once in a while but dont over do it! and if you think that you are to fat just do pilates!. if you dont know what pilates are just look it up on the internet!. if you have some extra cash buy work out dvd's to help you!. also you should go to your school's track or park and do some jogging!. and when you are watching t!.v when a commercial comes up, you should get up and do some push-ups or sit-ups or what ever exercise you like!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wellllllll, i am 18 5ft 1 and 125 pounds!. Your 14 5ft 3 and 135 pounds!. Id say you were fine to be honest if i go off what me and other people of our size and weight look like!. Although as you get older you'll have to slow down on the snacks as its harder to loose weight once you hit the 18yrs mark!. If your despereate to loose afew pounds just dont eat sweets and switch to wholemeal bread!. Drink only water and real fruit juices :) and if you really need something sweet try looking at the weight watchers range and make it once or twice a week!. thats all i did and lost 5 pounds in a couple of weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you sound just fine to me!. I look the same way, but it's probably how your body is built, sometimes when you try and lose weight and you hit a plateau it means that's the weight you're supposed to be!. If you want to lose weight maybe put a picture of your fav celeb up on your mirror, and it may remind you not to eat something!. Also, find some sort of sport or physical activity you enjoy, Tae Bo is fun (kickboxing) or maybe simply running!. Either way you're beautiful!. And I'll leave you with my quote, "You're only fat when you think you are!." But you might lose the weight as you grow some!. It's also harder to when you're short, I'm 5'2 so don't worry about it so much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you sound fine to me!.!.!.do you play any sports!?
if not you should look into that!.!.!.it would tone you up b/c you would be exercising everyday!.
if you cant get on a team, find some kind of recreational sport!.!.!.plus you will meet people who like the same thing!.

If your not into sports!.!.!.!.try to cut back on the bad snacks!. For example have a small vending machine bag size of pretzels rather than a candy bar!. Small light snacks are good every few hours between meals!.!.!.it keeps your metabolism up!.

But you should try to find an activity!.!.!.thats the really easy way to lose 10 lbs!.!.!.since your having fun and being busy, you wont even think about snacking plus you will be exercising!.!.!.it may lead to you eating bigger meals and less snacks too!.
