Question: I got question about eating!.!?!?!?!?!?
people kept telling me that if you chew 50 times and it will help you lose weight!.
i wonder if this is myth or fact!?

you could possibly lose weight, WHY,because the way your brain works, often by the time you get the message that your full, you have over-eaten!. If you take the time to chew your food thoroughly, you might find yourself eating less than you would have if you didn't chew like this!. This will not make you lose weight, but it could very well keep you from gaining any more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a certified personal trainer and hav my B!.S!. in Health and Wellness!. Two things are happening here!. If you normally chew your food 8x before swallowing then you start chewing 50x you will be burning more calories while chewing!. Also, it will slow down the time it takes you to eat!. Since, it takes an average of 20 minutes for your stomach to send signals to your brain that you are full, you will not be able to eat as much in that time and you will feel full with out eating as much!. If that is not clear enough!.!.!. Have you ever missed a meal and then stuffed yourself the next time you ate!. You probably ate supper fast because you were so hungry!. Your body did not have time to register you were full until it was too late and you ate too much!. Personally chewing your food 50x would take the joy out of eating for me!. How about increasing your cardiovascular and resistance training and decreasing you caloric intake by 300 calories per day!. Fact!. For two reasons:

There is an enzyme in your saliva called ptyalin that works on the starches in your food to convert to sugars, making your food more digestible!. As soon as you swllow it and it hits the stomach, stomach acid kills further reaction!.

You will eat slower giving your body more chance to register that you are full, People who gulp and bolt their food will eat a lot more before the "gas guage" on the stomach registers "full"!., thereby overeating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Chewing your food properly enables good digestion!. A lot of the time excess weight is the result of undigested food which turns in to mucus and fat!. So with all that in mind I would conclude that this is actually true and not a myth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
