Is my diet okay???!

Question:

Is my diet okay???

This is mostly my daily routine...
I wake about 8 and eat about 11... eat a bowl of poridge or something with a slice of toast... then I get something like half a head of broccoli and some rice at say 2... then I don't feel hungry again till about 6 and I feel it is too late to be eating so I grab a few carrots or an apple... I exercise two times a day, once in the morning and a very big time at night... I don't feel I need much more, I never let myself go hungry... But alot of the experts say this is very bad that it can damage me in the long run... But if I have been eating like this for years now is it okay to continue???

Answers:

Your body, more in likely has been eating away at the muscle in your body from your lack of protein in your diet. Some of the others here are right, I would not take in less than 1200 calories but if you feel the need to, break them down into as many meals as you feel necessary, whether it be 3, 4, 6 or 12, whatever, as long as you are eating.

Protein is essential to keeping a strong body because it is what builds up your muscles and allows for your body to hold the posture it holds, etc.

Working out first thing in the morning is excellent if you are trying to lose weight and there is no problems with eating right after you excercise; just make sure you dont exercise within an hour to an hour and a half of eating to allow for good digestion of what you have eaten. If you exercise the way you say you do in the evenings, then I would suggest eating a good meal afterwards to help your body be stronger...not necessarily more muscular...just a healthier stronger.

Once you allow yourself to eat that way for a long time your body thinks it is in a starvation mode and won't burn very many calories no matter how many calories you don't eat. It allows itself to go into a 'lull mode' living off of nearly nothing but your body will slowly deterioate, your kidneys and liver will eventually have serious functional problems and more.

BUT, if you do decide to eat more and more often, do it slowly so your body can adjust to it. Add one meal a day and then in a week or more, add another meal and so on till you are up to a healthy number of daily calories; that way your body can adjust to the new fuel you are providing it with and I am positive you will see some excellent energy and results in the change, healthy change, in your body!

Good Luck!
