Why do college gyms and weight rooms tend to be more crowded than high school gy!
Question: Why do college gyms and weight rooms tend to be more crowded than high school gyms and weight rooms!?
This seems to be true among my high school friends who went to different colleges and my college friends who went to different high schools!.
And it's not just in-season athletes either, it's the general student body!. College gyms and weight rooms do tend to be larger facilities and have better exercise equipment, but I don't think that's the only factor here!.
We also noticed that the proportion of females at college gyms is also much higher than in high school gyms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

most high school students do not care much about working out because it involves hard work and discipline!. in high school kids would rather hang out at the mall or kick it with friends and chasing girls (little do they know that there are a lot of girls at the gym)!.
in college students begin to develop a sense of discipline and see that there are a lot of good looking people of the opposite sex and want to look for them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've never heard of a high school that allows non-athletes into the gym!. I do know a lot of people take up working out when they get to college, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that most colleges of any decent size have gyms which are often free for students!. I guess that's a big reason why!. Also, I noticed that some people in college seem to view going to the gym as more of a social event than actually working out, especially girls!. There was a running joke at college about the girls who went to the gym in earrings and makeup just to talk, but it was true of some girls, and they were very annoying since they always seemed to be in the way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It also has to do with the fact that the student population is extremely large at a college!. Anywhere from 10-30 thousand!. Thats also probably why they tend to be more crowded than a high schools!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
