That's not an easy question to answer!. There is no right answer!.
It depends on a lot of factors!.
What are you trying to achieve!? Weight loss, muscle size, toning and conditioning, cardiovascular efficiency!?
Each of those things are also dependant on what your body looks like and what you have been doing in the recent past!.
If you were not exercising, you must take it slow initially!. You don't want to overstress the body and have it revolt against you!. (2-3 times a week for approximately 30-60 mintues of both weight training and cardio)
If you are already exercising and you have an established routine, then you might want to look into what kind of exercising you are doing now!. If you aren't seeing the results with what you are doing, you might want to change your routine a little!. (Longer reps, shorter reps, heavier weights, lighter weights, more days off, less days off)
You didn't really explain anything about your current condition, so it's difficult to answer your question!.
The general rule of thumb is to not work the same large muscle groups in back to back days!. Give them at least a 24 hour rest in between sessions!.
Over training is just as bad as under training!. It all has to do with your capabilities, your strength, your determination and your endurance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you want to just keep in shape and live longer and what not, then a 30min run or 1hour walk each day will be sweet, so long as you eat healthy still!.
if you want to get bigger and fitter, then gym 4-5days a week with the right amount of protein and carbohydrates and fat consumed!.
but you only want to have a healthy heart and keep a good body, so i would just recommend a 30-45min cardio as many days as possible, and a 1-3 day trip to the gym to keep your body solid and keep away the flabby unwanted fat!.
hope this helps mate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
