Will walking (NOT running) be any good for exercise?!


Question: Will walking (NOT running) be any good for exercise!?
I am 15-years-old and not in shape!. I'm not fat at all, or really chubby even!.!.!. I was really skinny before, with no muscle because I never exercise, but my metabolism is slowing down, and I know I will have to start exercising eventually!.

I have two questions:

1!. Will running help me to stay in shape, if I take a short, half-hour long jog every morning or so!? Is there any other exercise I need to do!? Keep in mind, I'm not a body builder or anything!. I only want to do what I need to to stay in normal, or slightly above-average, shape!.

2!. Will WALKING do anything for me, or must I run!? I walk to school and back every day, and I sometimes take my dogs for walks!. Is walking a waste of my time, as far as exercise goes, or is it good for something!? Will it help me lose fat!? Gain muscleWww@Answer-Health@Com

1) Running definitely CAN help!. Just remember to start slow, don't run too long, and gradually build up your running time!. You could do pushups, crunches and such when you're not running!.

2) Walking is great for exercise!. I'm pretty sure it helps one gain a bit of muscle, especially when power walking (but I always think power walkers look weird)!. It's definitely NOT a waste of time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

walking is the BEST weight bearing exercise there is!.
You seem really active so keep up the walking, you can walk leisurely or briskly!.

Walking works all the systems: skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular,helps with digestion and sleep; and is also easier on the knees and ankles!

Walking or running, the important thing here is to keep your heart elevated for a period of 45-60mins!., this will help you loose!. Find your target heart rate!. To mantain you can do less time!. Youalso have consider the way you eat!. Fat, sweet, soda, ect!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
