Question: Please advise thank you: If you have been sucessful in losing weight did you do so on your own!?
or with group support such as weight watchers or Slimming world or the like!. I'm finding it difficult on my own!. I'ts not that I give in I think it's what I eat that is the problem even though I eat a well balanced low fat diet and walk 3-4 miles each day I think I need advice and support from a group!.

You have to track what you eat!. It is a pain I know but you would be surprised at how fast things add up!. I would always suggest consulting a doctor before you begin a plan!. I was on a 1400 calorie diet!. Those calories were composed of 50% carbs, 30% protien and 20% fat!. I ate 6 small meals a day!. I also worked out!. I did cardio for an hour 5 days a week and weights 4 days a week!. I did not take two days in a row or I lost motivation!.

Your body will adjust to what you do so if you walk 3 - 4 miles you might want to add some miles or try to run a bit!. You also have to be real honest with yourself!. Are you leisurly walking or fast walking!. You do have to push yourself!. There is no short cut!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm dieting at the moment and have stuck to a strike diet plan, eatting fresh fish, steamed vegtables, lots of fresh fruit and having the odd low fat rice cake as a snack!.
the key in losing weight is to exercise and have a healthy diet plan, you'll soon see the stones falling from your waste!
Ive been on my diet now for 3weeks and was going on a size 16, I am now fitting back into my size 14 clothes and still having enough room!

It might be better to watch the calories instead of watching the fats!. There are several places on the Internet you can find this information!. Also, it seems to be a motivational factor here!. Turning towards a support group would be useful!. And there has some stories about how music has been really effective!. I go to the gym with my buddy whos got the same goals as me!. We both need to lose weight!. alot!. (hes in the marines he needs to be 160 by june)
so far we both have been succesful!. I find it easier to lose weight and shape up with a partner because me and him both try to outdo eachother!. He is better at cardio Im better at weight training!. I am in the same boat as you!. I currently am 25 years old and weigh 245 pounds!. Its hard to excersie like all these programs suggest!. I tried weight watchers and had no success with it!. I find it to hard to stick to their program!. I am slowely losing weight!. Here is what I do, and I dont use any focus group or anything like that!.

Start with a journal where you can log what you eat!. I use www!.fitday!.com its easy and free!. you can customize it as you please!. Lots of food listed!. It also has a fitness area which shows you for your weight how many calories you are burning!. This I find very helpful!. If you track what you eat and how much movement your doing, this will make it easier to see where the problems are, then just guessing!. This will also help you make better choices!. I set a calorie limit, and that makes me eat fruit or something instead of a cookie, cause i can actually see how much calories I can save!. LOL

If you have a friend whom you can talk to about this, then that may help!. Someone to talk to about different foods, ways to get fit and someone to just help you stay on track!. Maybe find one that is also trying to lose weight, I find it hard to talk to my skinny friends about it!. lol!. I can always be a good email buddy if you need one!.
