What are you thoughts in Gastric Bypass surgery?!

my sister had this done three yaers ago!. she has a lot of trouble with upset / acidic stomach, and she was very ill for a long time afterwards!. she developed a staph infection at her incision site, and she has a hernia where the doctors told her that the stomach muscles are weaker because of where they cut her open!. on the plus side, she had soooooo many health problems, that all stemmed from her being overweight!. i never thought that she was that big, but she has lost over 150 pounds, and kept it off!. she has to be careful about how much she eats, and she is unhappy with the fact that she has a LOT of loose skin that will need to be surgically removed (but she doesn't have the money), but overall she is healthier and happier than ever!. i am so glad she had it done, because now we can do things together that we never could do before!. she has the energy now!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it shouldn't be taken lightly!. i agree that it works, but if people don't change theri eating habits that have this done, they can blow their stomach up and die from septic poisoning!. i think the core issues should be reviewed and someone considering this should make sure their eating habits can take the same kind of change that their stomach is taking!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think the risks are greatly reduced from where they were several years ago - additionally (60 minutes report last week) - there is an emidiate positive side effect - Type 2 diabetes is cured as soon as the operation is complete -
