Exercising while Pregnant?!

Question: Exercising while Pregnant!?
After years of talking about it I finally got into an exercise routine last year!. I was walking about 45 minutes a day and doing a 30 minute Pilates session every second day!. I was feeling great! Then I got pregnant, The first trimester hit me hard!. I was tired a lot of the time and got shortness of breath from just walking up the stairs at home and exercise fell by the wayside as it was an effort just to get up in the morning some days!. Now I'm in the 2nd trimester and I'm starting to feel like my old self and wanting to do some exercise again!.!. I have started with just a 20 minute walk every day but I want to know how much is too much!. Any advice!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its frustrating isnt it!? Going to all that hard work and then BANG you have to take things easy!

I am in the same situation as you!. Exercised like crazy for the last couple of years, then got preegnant and felt too ill to do anything for the first trimester, and now trying to get back into it lightly again!

An instructor at my gym who specialises in pregnancy says any light exercise is fine!. I have been walking 5k's a couple of times a week, doing some light weights and just started aqua classes!. She says try not to let your heart rate go over 140bpm and not to exercise to the point that you're exhausted!. And if anything feels uncomfortable don't do it!.

You sound like you were pretty fit before falling pregnant, so Im sure what you're doing will be fine!. If the walking gets a bit boring and you need some variety maybe look at getting a walking buddy, maybe a personal trainer who specialises in pregnancy or take up some other light activities!.

Good luck with it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well workout until you fell a lot of discomfort I mean like not I am tired discomfort but like I am having pains discomfort!. Just use your instincts and when you think you have done enough then stop!. Yoga would probablly be a good thing to do because it relaxes you, just do beginers though because you don't want to over do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dont listen to M2012!. You should not run or exercise until you feel discomfort!. You should do very little exercise!. I would say a brisk walk in the mornings!. Not jogs!. Walking is more healthy and safer and you should always walk with a partner when ur pregnant!. Much more safer!. Since its the first trimester, you can do like a 20 minute walk, but as time passes, you should reduce it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
