What are the benefits of an organic diet?!

Question:

What are the benefits of an organic diet?

Answers:

First, it is more than an organic diet that is beneficial.
An organic diet is one that is free from chemicals and closer to what helped people survive when there were farms everywhere.
Organic means only that the food has been grown without chemicals and has not been sprayed or fertilized with chemicals that may or may not prove harmful over years.
If you are what you eat, you don't want junk chemicals in your body. Obviously this is more important the younger you are. At 80 years old it might not make any difference.
But there is more to a healthful diet than just organics.
Consider this:
Animals are fed the remains (that means junk body parts of dead animals who died from what you don't know) of
their own species as well as other species. So, that juicy hamburger you love may have been from an animal who was fed brain matter, spine parts, etc. from a "downed" animal. Some of these "downed" animals may have been suffering from "mad cow disease" but no one will tell you that. The FDA checks only a few cows for this disease. The Japanese test ALL cows for this disease.
What's really crazy about this is cows and other farm animals do not eat meat naturally. They are all vegetarians by design. They eat grass, grains, corn, etc. Not dead cow brains and spines. UGH.
Then there's the hormone problem. Dairy farmers sometimes inject cows with hormones in order to make them produce more milk. These hormones wind up in milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, processed foods that use milk in their formulation, cake batter, for example. Then, they wind up in you. What difference that makes in your health is unknown because no one will tell you. The FDA doesn't address this problem. Some consumers and health workers think that these added hormones could cause early maturation, puberty, especially in girls. But there have been no controlled studies to say either yes or no.
You can buy NO HORMONES ADDED milk but it's a little more costly. The cheeses and yogurts I've seen do not mention hormones at all.
Then, there are the eggs. What do chicken farmers feed their chickens? You can buy vegetarian fed chickens with no hormones but, there's the cost issue again. Pure food costs more than "manufactured" food.
And then there are those horrible things called Trans Fats.
These are manufactured oils that are a little like plastic balls in your arteries. They never disappear. They stay i n your body your whole life. Many manufacturers say No trans fats on their labels. This is not true. The rule, FDA, again, says that a small amount of trans fats allows the food maker to say zero trans fats. Look at the label. If it says "partially hydrogenated" oil of ANY kind, then there are trans fats in the food.
Does this mean you have to stop eating. No.
But you can buy less pure food and make up for it by eating more organic fruits and vegetables to fill out the diet plan. You can write or email the manufacturer and tell them you won't buy their foods until they clean up their act.
There's a commercial on tv right now that talks up how delicious All BranYogurt Bites is. I bought this. Tastes good. Unfortunately, I did not read the label in the store.
There it was: partially hydrogenated oil. I brought it back to the store. I've done this only about 3 times in my whole life.
I haven't eaten hot dogs in years. And then I found beef hot dogs that were from vegetarian-fed cows. These hot dogs taste just like the other kind. They do not have nitrites (a deadly substance) in them. They're just like regular hot dogs but without the poisons. Whole Foods Market sell them in this area, NYC.
So, the end is that if you want to protect yourself from the poisons corporations are pushing, read all the labels of everything. Look things up on the internet. You can learn lots.
I hope this is not too long and depressing. And I hope this is helpful to you.
