Question: I'm training for a marathon and need to know how many calories!?
I should be consuming well still trying to lose weight but also giving myself the fuel to get through my long runs!. Any way i can figure that out!? I'm 5'7" 190 25 years oldWww@Answer-Health@Com

You also need to eat enough protein for your weight, which will be a minimum of about 80 grams a day, more if you're working out hard!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its not about calories but the type of food that you eat!. You can have 2000 calories of junk (candy and chips) or 3000 calories of good food (veggies, grilled chicken or tofu) and it would do much better for you!. when i was training for a marathon i would eat carbs in the morning (bowl of pasta) and throughout the day eat tons of veggies and fruits (raw) and of course tons of water and NOT gateraide or any similar!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

your weight is good but one thing you can do the night before a race is to "carb" & "fat" load to store muscle & liver glycogen for the following day's race!.

It looks like this:
have an extra serving of pasta or rice (whole grains) bread etc, nuts, (almonds, walnuts, pecans etc) the night before
This will help you to not hit the wall and run out of energy!.

Try not to eat about 2-3 hours before the race, you don't want to cause any digestive upsets!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
