Fastest way to build up pushups in one month?!

Question: Fastest way to build up pushups in one month!?
Ok so here is the deal!. I had shoulder surgery "Labarum Tear" back in 2004!. I have worked my butt off and I am up to about 16 pushups with mild problems!. I am taking a deputy sheriff test next month and the minimum is 21!. Any ideas how I can increase my reps!? Also during my pushups I have to compress a 4" foam block thats placed under my costal arch!. I am 6"4 and I have long arms!. What's the best position to place my arms "Shoulder width!? Closer or further out!? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Slightly wider than shoulder width for qualification!.

Wider placement will work your shoulders harder!.!. but I don't see why you should when all you need is reps!.

Stretch!. You'll get nowhere without range of motion!. Remember to stretch to tightness (mild burn), not pain!.
http://walking!.about!.com/od/stretching/a!.!.!.

10 reps, 45 second stretch, 10 reps, 45 second stretch, 10 reps, stretch!.

3 cycles a day!.!. morning, midday, before bed!.

Do this for a week!., then increase to 15 per set!. Following weeks 20, then 25!. If you miss a session, make it up as soon as you remember it!. I'm confident you can manage the first 2 sets with no problems (any week)!. On the 3rd set, go till failure if you can't make it!. Just stop as if you'd hit the limit!.

At the end of each week, Do pushups till failure (stretch before and after)!. I think you'll see dramatic results and maintain motivation!.

21 Pushups is very easily attainable!. Follow this routine and you'll manage 100 within a month or so!.

Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Putting the arms out more than shoulder width, puts more of the exercise on the chest mucles!. I would not think this will work since the shoulder will be more in play also!.

If the arms are closer together, it puts more of the exercise on the triceps!. I would lean towards this choice with one warning!. It may put your arms at a worst angle in relationship to the tear!. I would try it and see how you do!.

It's been a while since I had to do push-ups, but when I did, I seems to recall that closer together was a little easier than further apart!. Obviously, a "normal" push-up is shoulder width!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
