Question: Battling weight and self-esteem!.!.!.!?
I was in an abusive marriage and as much as I hate to admit this,I let myself go!.I was struggling with depression and an anxiety disorder,so I put on some weight!.I feel miserable and ashamed and I have no self-esteem!.I'd like to start dating,but I feel that nobody's going to interested with the extra weight!.Any suggestions on a diet plan that's healthy(I don't want to lose it too fast,I know that I'll only gain in back)!.I have a child also and I want to set a good example for her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Going slowly is the right way!. Start walking 5-6 days a week and using light weights!.!.!. such as dumbbells!. Weights help fat burn faster and helps keep your metabolism up during the day!. Do the weights first before walking!. Walk as fast as you can for at least 20-30 minutes for the first 2 weeks!.!. increase the walks to 30-45 there after!. Get rid of all the junk food in the house!.!. if it's not there!.!. you won't eat it!. Buy healthy good foods!.!. salads, lean meats such as skinless chicken breast, salmon or other fish!.!. cook them on the grill, baked or in a skillet with high heat Pam spray!.!.use a lid!.!. it will help seal in the flavors!. Eat only frozen or fresh veggies and fruits!. Have only whole grain wheat bread in the house!.Most importanly!.!. stop beating up on yourself!. You survived an abusive marriage!.!. you did it the way you knew how!.!. now you know better and you will do better!. Eating is comfort!.!. you need to find another way to comfort yourself!. You can comfort yourself the way I do!.!. by moving!. I walk all the time!.!. it's my great comfort when I'm upset!.!. even when I'm tired!.!. it revives me!. You are a great person and you have a beautiful wonderful daughter!.!. taking care of her mother is the best thing you can do for her!. Don't be so hard on yourself!. Your weight is only so much a problem as you think it is!. It may be hard to hear this, but you need to ease up on yourself, take risks, not let people abuse you, be bold, and stand up for yourself!. Eating right and lots of exercise is the only thing that is going to work!. 2 pounds a week is healthy!. Try counting calories the best you can and stay around 1300 for the day!. Cut back on dairy, cut back on bread and carbs!. When you do eat dairy, do it in the form of natural cheese!. Stay away from yogurt! When you eat bread only eat all natural whole grain bread and reduce the amount you eat!.

Sweet Potato is the best carb for your body you can eat!. Put down the bread, rice, noodles or white potato and eat a sweet potato!.

Also, stay away from high fructose corn syrup!.

A good thing to do is buy an outfit you like that is to small (not a lot to small, but 20 pounds to small!. Every time you want to eat something you are not suppose to, try to put the pants on!. It will give you a reality check and you will go for an apple instead!. Continue to do that until you reach your goal weight!.

Just strive toward a healthy diet!. The only thing you can do to lose weight properly and long term is to improve your eating habits and exercise!.

Controlling your weight is just math!. You don't want to eat more calories than your body actually needs a day!.
3500 calories=1lb
Your body needs _____ # of calories a day to maintain your current weight!. It's an important number, one you'll need to check every time your weight changes significantly and always stick to!. If you eat over this number, you will start to gain weight!. To lose weight, you would eat 500 calories under that number = 1lb a week!. (IE!. My body burns approx!. 2400 calories a day!. If I want to lose 1lb a week, I would eat 1900 calories a day)

Don't eat under 1200 calories ever!.If you're eating a lowered calorie diet to lose weight, you don't want to cut it too low or get your body used to having that lower number of calories!. That's when, like you said, you gain the weight back!. Have 1 day a week where you eat up to the number of calories you need to maintain your current weight!.

Exercise is a great help!. There are so many things you can do to get more active!. It can burn additional calories so you would lose weight at a quicker rate, or it can keep your calorie needs higher!.

okay from size 20+ to size 4 and happy, more than 100 pounds after living a at life!. I have remained down for almost eight years now!.

I did not go on a diet!. I changed the way I ate and the weight loss just happened as my body readjusted to the healthy food it needed!. No, I do not feel hungry!. Yes it was a slow process and had some plateaus!.

Fresh food is always better than store bought which is loaded with sugars and salt!.
Eggs
Water ( I like carbonated water)
homemade beans made in the crockpot!.!.!.I flavor them
mustard, dill pickles, ketsup (no mayo, dressing, miracle whip)
limited cheese
if oil, only canola or better yet, olive!.
red wine vinegar
lots of different spices
turkey bacon prepared in the microwave!.

High, high protein (fish and chicken breast and beans)
no refined sugar
NO CARROTS, they are high in sugar!.
learn to cook with apple sauce as a substitute, and Splenda
Low sodium (salt) read the labels
Bake, broil, microwave!.!.!.no more frying!.

eat at the same time each day!.!.!.this fixes your body so that it knows when it will receive more energy!.

Never eat a treat two days in a row!. Your body will redevelop a craving!.

Take your height in inches and multiply it by 2!.0 for slim
and 2!.3 for you maximum !.

If you adjust to 1300 calories per day, you will go slow and steady!. A wonderful example for your daughter!.

Write down what you eat as soon as you eat it!. Total in the evening, and eat more if you have to to reach the 1300 without going over!.

After a couple of months of doing this, you will naturally begin to pick the healthy foods!.

Remember, we need crunch!. Avoid soft foods which do not exercise you mouth and take enough time for your stomach to tell your brain that you are full!. It takes at least 20 minutes for that to happen!. And in 20 minutes we can cram in thousands of calories!.

And for every pound you lose, save $5!.00 cause your gonna need it for those new clothes!. prioritize: let go of the spooks in your mind, learn what you like, learn what you enjoy, soak up the peace, eat healthy, look at catalogues and see what looks good and why!.
