Help with the Master Cleanse Diet, aka Lemonade Diet?!

Question:

Help with the Master Cleanse Diet, aka Lemonade Diet?

Hi, I heard that Beyonce lost 27 pounds for her role in DreamGirls. The Master Cleanse Diet is also known as the Lemonade Diet. And it consists of drinking water only, with a bit of lemon and Grade B Maple Syrup, and Ceyenne Pepper.

My question is... if one doesn't use all of the three ingredients above, will no weight loss occur? Cause as far as I know, the country I'm living in doesn't have Cayenne Pepper and I don't even know what Grade B Maple Syrup is. Could I lose weight with only lemon and water?

My last question is that I heard drinking water causes you to gain a lot of water weight. I don't know what to believe. I've tried drinking less water because people told me I'd gain water weight, and I tried drinking more water cause people told me water would help me lose weight. So... which is it?

Thanks in advance!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/maple_syrup... - may help you understand the difference in grades.
But basically grade B maple syrup is a dark amber, unrefined maple syrup with all many trace minerals. This syrup grade is not filtered or preserved with formaldehyde as most processed sugars are and has a rich full maple taste with caramel-like overtones. If unavailable ask your health food store to order it for you because this grade of maple syrup is important for this program - from some website

Not sure about the cayenne pepper whether its for taste of the few nutrients it contains

Yes you could lose weight on lemon water but you would be lacking in an extreme amount of nutrients and vitamins and I suppose grade b maple syrup and cayenne pepper makes up for a bit of this so don't do it

Whatever water weight you put on will be offset by the loss from not consuming any food but remember you metabolism will be set to only burn a little calories to keep you alive so when you go off it EASE off it or it will all come back on

Having said all that there is an escape clause kind of thing if you will and if the hunger becomes unbearable you can eat watermelon or negative calorie foods, but not too often.

Also keep exercising in the mornings to keep your metabolism up but don't overdo it and also protein shakes were recommended to me when I did it; this will decrease muscle loss if combined with weights and aerobics but also will add calories that need to be burnt off with exercise

I am not a doctor or nutritionist or anything to do with the medical side of things so take my advice cautiously and also consult your doctor to see what they think
