I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid 8 yrs ago!.When you have an under active thyroid,I'm sure you know that your metabolism is a bit slower than someone that doesn't have a thyroid problem!.The medicine that they prescribe has a high content of sodium!.Which retains water, causing me to have alot of water weight!.So what I did was cut the sodium out of my diet!. After cutting out the foods high in salt ,I started to lose 2 to 3lbs a week!.I ended up losing 60 lbs in a year!.Along with the help of jogging and alot of walking!.For me I have to work harder than other people to maintain my weight!.I have to stay away from anything that contains flour!.I stick with whole wheat's and grains and fruits and veges high in fiber!.Just take the sodium out of your diet and you will see results!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you say 'thyroid problem' you'd need to be a little more specific since this is a huge subject!. Has any treatment (Thyroxine) been discussed!? I had a hemi-thyroidectomy about eighteen years ago and have not yet been prescribed meds!. There are numerous books on this subject as well as natural Vs synthetic Thyroxine but the best person to discuss it with is your Doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thyroid problems will cause you to put on weight especially if it is "over-active"!. I would not advise any further dieting unless you consult with your local GP who will be able to point you in the right direction or give you additional medication!.

My mother in law has an over active Thyroid and she has gained over 5 stone since this started happening!Www@Answer-Health@Com
