Is take-away food less healthy?!

Question:

Is take-away food less healthy?

I've always assumed it was as nutritious as the food that any other people cook at home (and perhaps sometimes even more).

After all, why shouldn't it be?

But recently, I've heard someone in this board say that she didn't want her daughter to grow up on take-away food.

So, why is take-away food less recommendable? (If it is in fact)

Answers:

Foods such as McDonalds and KFC are not as healthy as foods made at home. Many other take away foods though are just as healthy - sushi, Thai etc are probably the same except some foods might be cooked in less healthy oils to make them cook faster.

I don't think it is proven that take away foods are the same or as healthy as home made foods, but at least if you cook the foods at home you can read the nutrition reading on the bottles or packaging.
