There is no growth because the cartillage plates in the bones have fused!. Interestingly, some adults do have excess HGH production, normally due to a pituitary tumour (Craniopharyngioma)!. The symptom these people experience is Acromegaly!. So HGH treatment in adults causes acromegaly where the bones kind of become thicker!.
