My friend thinks im skinny and should stop losing weight but i think she's w!

Question: My friend thinks im skinny and should stop losing weight but i think she's wrong!?
~Well, I've always been concerned about my weight!. I was a twig as a little kid and then as I got older I became fairly chubby-never obese-but chubby!. At one point in my life I reached 138 lbs!!! And I believe that was 8th grade!.
~When I started highschool, my whole life took a turn for the better!. After Christmas break something about me changed!. I no longer wanted chocolate, Taco Bell, and other junk food!. My hunger for exercise overpowered my hunger of fattening food!. I think it all started when I began freshman PE!. I had begun working the hardest I had ever had to work in any previous physical education class!. This inspired me to workout a LOT at home and eat only healthy meals!. The first week I lost 7 lbs just by exercising!!! I am now down to 114 lbs and I feel great!. Though, I still am not confident and want to keep working towards my goal of eventually being able to wear a bikini!.

Okay, well there's some good things here and some bad!. First of all, being concerned with your weight unless you are severely underweight or obese is never good!. And like you said, you were a twig when you were young so there should have been no reason for worry, lots of kids are usually either really thin or obese when they're young!.

I can relate to you a way except the change for me came as I entered middle school!. I had begun track in 5th grade and it turned out I loved running, still do but I became one of those typical cliche athlete stories I suppose you could say!. I became obsessed with running, any time I could and developed a mild form of anorexia!. One week I went with only eating an apple and a peppermint and the sick thing was I was proud of myself!. That is the point you never want to get to but the fact that you do eat is great!. It's more than great, its fabulous and I think as long as you eat normally, 3 meals a day and snacks in between than you're doing great!. But if you find yourself skipping meals, please don't, anorexia seems to be becoming an epidemic lately!. And also, you won't be able to see it and you might be rejecting my advice already but you need to realize that looking at the calories on boxes IS obsessive and that's when you should realize your going overboard!. Same with counting calories, if your doing that than that's still a bit too far!. Be conscious of what you eat but don't begin to judge it by a number on a box!.

Like others have said, mentioning your height would be really helpful but I can give you an example of myself!. I currently play volleyball two days a week and run (1 mile) five days a week!. Along with this, I eat a semi healthy diet, junk food here and there but also fruits and vegetables!. For the most part, I'm an athletic girl and healthy!. I am 15 (almost 16), exactly 5 foot and weight 125 lbs!. But the problem with the picture is far to many people focus on the weight number!. The numbers are far more important, such as your waist, how many inches there!? I have a 26 inch waist and wear size 3-5 jeans!. So you can see, while yeah, I'm not a stick thin girl, I do have the athletic body and most of my weight is muscle weight, not fat!. I proudly wear a bikini and I think wearing one is more the fact that you can be comfortable in your own skin so why cover it up!? Stop thinking about the number and just simply learn to love yourself!. Eat healthy, exercise, do whatever you want but do it because you like the way it makes you feel not the way it makes you look!.

There's a great Seventeen article I remember reading now about body bashing which is what it would seem you're doing!. "everytime I bring up how fat I look or how i need to exercise or wanting to look at the calories on boxes of food" <-- That's what that is right there!. Love you for who you are, not who you think everyone wants you to be!. Tell yourself you're beautiful as you are everyday or even write "You're beautiful" on your mirror!. Just keep reminding yourself that you are great and eventually you really will believe it!. It does take time however and you may feel stupid but it will work in the end!.

A huge problem I see here is your MOM saying you're not thin!. One of the reasons I became anorexic was because of my parents!. It was the little side comments mostly of "Why can't you look like you're sister!?" or "*laughing* Even your older sister is thinner than you!" It was never a direct thing but all the same your mom should not say that to you, it's beyond wrong!. It seems that both you and your mom need to get better body images of yourselves!. She may have even passed the view onto you!. Taking a class together could help!. As for your friend, shes not jealous, shes concerned!. And I could see why she would be, try saying something nice about yourself and her when you guys are together!. It'll make you both feel better!. Just remember, perfection is unattainable so learn to love who you are as you are and maybe you'll find that the perfection is found in the simple imperfections!. =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think that 114 is a perfect weight!.!.!. i have the same problem as you!.!.!. i usually eat tons of junk food but i decided to cut back and i was 110 and already on the really skinny side and i lost 10 pounds just cause i exercise too much and now im kinda self conscious because i have no boobs and i should probably put on a couple pounds so if i were you i would stay the sameWww@Answer-Health@Com
