Compound movements exercise more muscles at one time and therefore are more time efficient!. They have movement patterns that better simulate life activities and sports and therefore, have greater practical strength benefit!.

Isolation movements are very time-consuming and have less athletic carryover!. Bodybuilders use them to get more emphasis in one place or another!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Isolation is working out ONE muscle with that certain exercise!.
Compound is workout MORE than one muscle with that certain exercise!.

Pro of Isolation is it focus's on only one muscle so you can easily concentrate on that muscle and work it to the max
Con of Isolation is no other muscles are used in the exercise

Pro of Compound is you work more than one muscle so, obviously you can muscle in more places than just one!.
Con of Compound is you don't gain as much muscle in specific areas since the exercise is spreading it out more than focusing on one muscle!.

Compound exercises work more than one muscle and involve more than one joint movement!. Isolation exercises work only one muscle group and one joint movement!.
For example !.!.
squats and Bench Presses are compound exercises!.
Bicep curls and Tricep kickbacks are isolation exercises!.

Perform compound exercises before isolation exercises in a workout because isolation exercises will usually fatigue the muscle and effect your performance in a compound exercise!. For example do lunges before leg curls or leg extension, do bench presses before you do triceps kickbacks!.

Pros and Cons !.!.!. Compound exercises are great for targeting multiple muscle groups and save time in a workout!.
Isolation exercises take up more time but !.!.!. they are great for targeting weaker muscles !.!. (postural assessments are good for finding your week muscles)!.
