You wouldn't have asked the question if you didn't already know the answer!. YES - this is VERY UNHEALTHY!. Unless all you do is just lay in bed, not moving a muscle at any point in time -- meaning you never use any energy, which means you never need to burn any of the calories you consume during a given day -- then 700 calories a day might be sufficient, if you're goal was to lose weight!.

Just to have the human body function properly ~ and by properly I mean having enough energy to walk around or run around, engage people in conversation, engage in social activities, eat meals, digest food, use the bathroom, etc!. ~ you need to consume at least 1,000 to 1,500 calories each day of high quality foods!. Some people require even more calories than that, needing up to 2,000 calories per day just to have their bodies function properly with the minimum output of energy!. It varies from person to person!.

However, 700 calories is far too low for most anyone to survive on decently!. At 700 calories per day, your body thinks it is starving to death, so your body will hold onto every single calorie you give it, as though it weren't going to get anymore; your body will hoard calories, making it all the more likely that you will actually GAIN weight eating only 700 calories per day than Lose weight!. Your metabolism will slow down to compensate for the lack of calories coming into the system, thereby conserving as much energy as possible; your body thinks it needs to hold on to as much energy and as much food and fat as possible because you don't feed it very often!.

You would be much better off to see a Dietician and determine what your body actually needs to consume each day in the number of calories to function at it's highest potential!. From there, you can have some days where you eat a little less, and other days where you eat a little more; eating in that fashion allows your metabolism to adjust itself, so it never really gets stuck at one setting, slow or fast!.

You know that 700 calories per day is far too low for someone of your height and weight; you never would have asked the question out here if you didn't already know what the answer would be!.

Try to do something that will be healthy for yourself from this point forward; at least consider seeing a Dietician to determine what your proper caloric intake should be!. OK!?

Just remember that you need to eat enough to take care of the activity you're doing for the day!. 1800 is reccomended but not necessary!. In warmer weather people tend to eat less and by all means, don't overeat but do make sure you're getting what you need!. Your weight and height sound like they're in synch though, so you should be good!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
