Doew gum chewing help you lose weight??

if i chew gum for 8 hrs straight with only water to drink, will that help with the loss of weight?? like 5 pounds?

Well...it can be used as an aid...but I wouldn't rely on it to much. Chewing gum burns 11 calories an hour. Most sugar-free gum is 5 calories a serving. Lets say you have a problem with cravings. Maybe you get hungry around 9-10 in the morning, or 8-11 at night. You can pop in a piece of gum and chew away. It'll help suppress the hunger until it is time to eat ( or time for bed). Maybe you do a lot of eating due to boredom. Gum can help with that. However, I wouldn't rely as the only means of losing weight. You need certain vitamins and minerals ( and other things, such as protein, fiber, and fat) to sustain your body.
