Whats the real difference between a Tan and a Sunburn???

Visually.....one is brown and the other is an angry red. Both are signs of sun damage. A sun burn is the "immediate" reaction to the sun. Depending on your skin type, a tan can eventually result from a sun burn. I used to tan a lot when I was younger....and rarely got burned. However, a few years ago the doctor found some potentially bad moles on my back. I had two removed and one was on its way to being cancerous. And honestly.....I probably had my back sun burned only a few times. Excessive tanning will cause problems down the road also.
