I exercise more frequently and find myself more hungry.?!

Question: I exercise more frequently and find myself more hungry!.!?
Hi all,

Basically, I've completely changed my lifestyle over the past year!. I run 30 miles a week, and do weight training 4 times a week!. Plus I walk to work and eat a balanced diet!. I weigh 168 pounds and i'm 5" 9!. Typically I'll have some branflakes for breakfast, then as a snack a yoghurt and fruit!. For lunch, usually ryvita crackers or some lean meat like turkey!. Finally for dinner I'll have roast chicken with veg or brown rice, omelette etc!.!.!.and a protein shake after my weights

My question is, I find myself really really hungry more than I used to!. I don't want to put my weight back on though, so is it still ok to snack on fruit!? What are the best things to eat in-between meals!? Oh yes, and I do drink LOTS of water!.!.!.still hungry though! lol!.

Thanks for listening, sorry for going on!.!.!.just needed to give a background!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
try having porridge for breakfast - it'll fill you up more and hopefully stave off those hunger pangs for longer!. if your worried about putting back on weight don't use milk use water and sweeten with honey!. tastes good, good for you, and should fill you up more than a bowl of branflakes!.
also, there's no reason to starve yourself - your 'thirst' for food is a message from your body to increase your calorie intake!. nuts are great to snack on - try looking around supermarkets !.etc for the ones with the lowest fat to protein ratio e!.g soya nuts, pumpkin seeds and the like!. these should also help fill you up!. if your worrying about your weight though, and think nuts are too fatty, you could try some soup, or some rice!. boil the rice up and hey presto a quick snack!. if you want to go for some soups, try making them yourself instead of buying premade ones - vegetable soups are great for you, but often supermarket ones have lots of added salt and fat, so try having a go at making one yourself!
there are plenty of recipes all over the net!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm no expert but i'm pretty sure its natural to be hungry when you're exercising so much!. You Need food! Its not the enemy!.!. its the source of energy!. I'd say of Course its ok to have fruit!. And why are you eating your biggest meal before you sleep!? Wont it just sit there then!? Why not eat bigger meals during the day when you're burning all that fuel up!? You gotta have the fuel to burn right!? Sounds like you're doing awesome!.!. but i think you need to eat untill you're full!.!. dont over eat!.!. or eat TOo much sugar!.!. but Eat!.!. dont starve yourself!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am an expert and Kate is right, it is normal to feel hungry when exercising a lot and you shouldn't ignore that!. If you keep up that kind of exercise rate you should be able to eat until you don't feel hungry anymore and still maintain good health!.

The key is finding the right kinds of foods and really listening to your body instead of your indulgences!. Generally you can't go wrong with lots of whole grains, fruits and vegetables!.

Some fats are OK too and in fact good for you but use more olive oil or polyunsaturated fats than saturated fats (animal fats)!. If you make your diet too lean then you will feel more hungry!. Your body also needs some fats to function properly!. Brown rice should really fill you up!. I eat long grain brown rice with Indian-style lentils (daal) and it fills me up every time!.

Fruits are a fine snack and I would encourage you to eat as much as you feel like!. Some people say 'fruit is free'!. Maybe with a literal meaning because it is fat free or maybe with a more figurative meaning that it isn't really cheating on your diet to eat fruit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all you have to ask yourself, are you really hungry!. In alot of cases, people tell themselves they are hungry when they are not!. That is the downfall of most dieters!. You are already eating an adequate diet so don't risk ruining it!. Instead focus on training yourself not to feel this hunger (after a while it will subside)!. It is mainly a psychological battle and remember to keep the balance!. Adding calories just means you have to work more off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I did the same thing, about a year ago I lost 100 pounds, I eat much more now then i used to, it is healthy food now, but a lot more!. When you work out you burn more energy so your body needs more energy (food!.) I will give you a tip, I started to use Psyllium Husk, it is a fiber that you mix with water and crystal light!. Take it 30 minutes before you eat and It will fill you up, I take it 3 times a day!. You will eat a little less and the fiber is excellent for you!. I recommend it to everyone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have heard that's pretty normal when you start to exercises more!.!.!. As long as you are burning more or as much as you are eating you should be fine!.!.!.!. Pick the fruits that are going to fill you up more, like bananas, so you will eat less of them but feel more full!.!.!.!.

I often feel like eating less right after I exercises, but then about three hours or so after I have this unbeatable appetite!.!.!. Frustrating I know!.!.!. You should be fine though :)

If you are finding yourself hungrier, thirstier or more tired than you used to be for no apparent reason then go and ask your doctor to test for diabeties!. I realise that you are nor a likely candidate but that does not mean that you can not have developed it; only that you probably have not!.!.!.and it would be a good idea to make sure that you have not!. if your doctor proves unhelpful then ask your pharmacist what you can do to make sure one way or the other!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No offense intended, but your diet is an absolute mess!. Firstly, too much simple sugar, especially in the absence of fat!. Simple sugars, even fructose (fruit sugars)are entirely more likely to raise you blood glucose quickly, resulting iin insulin secretion!. Whatever glucose cannot be stored down as glycogen in the liver and muscles (1% in muscles) will be converted to fat and stored in your adipose tissue!.

Fats slow the digestion of any macronutrient, thus adding a small amount of fat to every carbohydrate mealis also beneficial in controlling blood glucose!. Monounsaturated fats are the healthist, while trans and saturated fats are least healthy, but you still need them (not trans fats-man made yuckiness)!. The benefit of the slower digestion far outweighs the extra calories from the fat!.

(protein-4calories per gram/carbohydrates-4calories per gram/fats- 9-10 calories depending on the length of the lipid chain)

Eat more often, but more whole foods!. Make adjustments laid out in my answer and enjoy better health, healthy weight, lower or more balanced cholesterol and better pancreatic health!.

So, eat at least five times a day, while six is better!. Consume about the same amount of calories, though!. No need to cutr the calories if you're seeing results now!

For this very same reason, you need to eat more meals more often!

Whole foods! Processed foods are also digested too quickly!. Even cooking food damages it's glycemic score!

Eating raw vegetables rather than cooked helps, too!. Raw vegetables have a higher rate of catabolism, meaning they require calories just to digest them!.

Yep, protein is good!. Protein has muscle sparring properties!. Muscle IS the moost metabolic tissue in the body!. Proteiin also has the highest thermic effect of the three macronutrients!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
