What muscles do you use when you do pull ups?!


Question: What muscles do you use when you do pull ups!?
And are there any exercises beisdes pull ups that will make me able to do more pull ups!? I want to know this because I dont have a pull up bar and want to come back to school next year at the top of my class!. My record is 13, my current average is only 4!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the primary muscle (agonist) is latissimus dorsi, also called Lats!. then there are all the synergists that helps the lats doing a pull up, like Pectoralis (pecs), biceps, scapula etc!. A very good trick to improve your pull ups is to do negatives instead!. Meaning, you focus mostly on the eccentric part of the exercise!. So when you do a pull up, don't think about the part where you are pulling yourself up but try to lower yourself on a 2 count!. It works because you are making your antagonists (opssite muscles stronger) which will help you do the pull ups as well!. Besides that you can do bent over rows or low row which will work on your lats as well!. However don't forget to do exercises for your whole body and obviously your upper body!. Make sure you do a balanced workout, as you can get injured if not!. strengthening your biceps too would be a good idea as well!. Good luck =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

think about the motion your arm is going in when you're doing pull ups!.!.!.!. its the same as curls!. Anything where you pull something, is your biceps, pushing, Triceps!. pullups also use your lats and your shoulders!. work those muscles, and keep doing pull ups, thats really all there is to itWww@Answer-Health@Com

Not totally sure but one would expect to use the biceps!. triceps ans also pectorals!.
