Question:

How many calories does a person burn a day by NOT exercising ? If you eat 2,000 calories per day and don't exercise ... do you still gain weight ? How many calories a day do you burn by just daily living (with walking, sitting, moving around, etc.) without exercise

Answers:

Oh my god i just read the first two answers and they're so wrong i had to post somethng, this is my first time woohoo!
Skinny people don't burn more and do not necessarily have a faster metabolism! In fact heavier people burn more. The more weight you have on your body the more calories are burned when you walk around..Its like if you carry a huge backpack on your back and you get out of breath easily your burning more calories because of the extra weight or cars if you have a huge car (4x4) it burns fuel more easily than a small car.. Ok thats that. I also know from reading loads of different articles that you don't burn just 10 calories when your asleep! You can burn up to 58 calories every hour! So if you sleep 8 hours thats (oh god i have to get a calculator) 464 calories! Imagine how much fat we'd have on our bodies if we just burned 10 calories every night! Theres really good website called calorie count which tells you how many calories you burn doing certain activities you can create an account and add it to your diary (stating how many minutes you've done) by the end of the day you'll know how many calories you've burned! Even if you stayed in bed all day just click that activity, if you went for a 3minute walk click that too! Its great because you realise that every little helps and it may even encourage you to walk a few more minutes!
As for your question, it depends what you do in the day like how long do you walk for, how long do you sit for, do you do household chores etc because these all burn calories! So the best thing to do is go to the calorie count website and type in the time you spend doing these things! I hope i've answered your question! ")
