Confusion about working out?!

Question:

Confusion about working out?

I've been working out for two weeks and I apparently gained 4 pounds. My diet has not changed at all. Why am I gaining weight? This is the first time I've started going to a gym, so I don't know what the states my body goes through when first going to a gym and actually working out.

Answers:

Well two weeks is not very long. Any changes you will see are still down the road.

Your goal, of course, is to lose fat and gain muscle. But muscle weighs more than fat! So if you do it right you might lose inches but not necessarily pounds. If your goal is simply to lose weight, you might be disappointed. You'll have to be happy with just being thinner, stronger, looking and feeling better, and being healthier in general. But that's not so bad, is it?
