Trying to find fun & effective exercises?

I graduated in 2006, and since i graduated I've gained around 8-10 pounds. All through high school i was in colorguard/winterguard and i stayed active with that, practicing 3-4 days a week for about 3 hours. but now i don't have much physical activity. I really want to work on getting this weight off, but i can't seem to stick to an exercise. i bought a gym membership a few months ago... but i've only gone a few times. i just don't feel comfortable there, and i get bored just working out on a machine. I do like walking, and jogging, though i can't jog very long. I have a sabre that i used in colorguard and i was going to use it to tone my arms up. I also have an ab lounge at home i can use a few times a week. but what are some other fun programs or exercises you've tried that may help? i like home DVD's and programs. hip hop abs? yoga booty ballet? help! I need to find something fun so i can stay motivated and finally be happy with myself again. thanks.


Answers:

Well basically it is all up to you. You know which activities you enjoy doing, and which ones would keep you more likely to stay working out. That is the biggest part of it. Also, exercising with a friend, or at least having a buddy you can call on to cheer you on, motivate you, and kick you in the butt when you give an excuse will also help a lot. Basically anything that is out there will help you lose weight, but only if you chose to do it and continue to do so. Good luck!
