Weight gaining problem!!!!!!!!!?

For some this may piss you off but I have been trying to gain weight for years. Im a 21 yr male 5'5 and 130lbs. I want to be arund 145 150. I have been weight lifting heavily with my 2 roomates for over a year and have gained a whole 2 lbs. I am a cross courntry runner and people used to tell me if I stopped running I would become fat with my horrible eating habits. I have not run in about a month and i have been eating the fatest foods I can fine. And guess what I lost a fricken lb. WTF! I have even started drinking a lot of beer to hopefully gain weight. Ive been takeing 2 protein drinks a day, Eating pizza, hotdogs, tons of pasta, and fast food every single day. What is wrong with me? Do I have worms in my stomache? My doctor said that I have an extremely high metabolism rate but I thought I would atleast gain like 5 lbs in fat. Any suggestions how I can gain more weight preferbaly muscle? Will my metabolism actually slow down and give me a break?


Answers:

your BMR is between 2400 and 2700 calories per day. that's what you need per day to maintain your weight. to increase your weight you need to add an extra 300-500 calories per day. spread the meals over the day (ie 5-6 meals).
get 1g of protein to 1lb of body weight.
i'm not sure what your diet actually consists of, but i'm willing to guess you aren't getting enough. you won't grow bigger unless you eat more. junk food isn't necessarily the best option either. you can get your required calories by eating healthier and you will be better off for it.
