Is there such a thing as "too much protein"?!

Question:

Is there such a thing as "too much protein"?

I was looking for some muscle building suppliments, and I noticed two products that got me interested. One had 60 grams of Protien, while the other only had 38. My question is, if I purchase the 60 grams of Protien and use it, will it be too much? Will the protien become fat? I work out everyday, so I think I can keep up with it....if not..perhaps shouold I stick to something smaller? Help!

Answers:

Typically, the body in itself most ideal state can accept 35 grams of protein per meal in a several hour duration.

Most unathletic people (non-athletes) can only absorb 25 grams of protein in one session.

Drinking water (not other liquids) is essential when consuming excess amounts of protein to ensure no issues with the kidneys.

If you choose to have a high-protein diet, constantly look at the color of your urine. Since you should be vigilant, the color should never be dark yellow - always no color to light yellow. If it is dark yellow, drink more water immediately.

Even with protein, portion control is essential.
