What are the best protein sources apart from Protein shakes?!

What are the best protein sources apart from Protein shakes?

I am a body builder and I need to increase protein intake and can't afford to use more protein powder.

CTT, a bodybuilder's staple (chicken, turkey, tuna). Really most fishes are desireable on a daily basis due to the good fats and antioxidants. Beef gets a bad rap for but lean beef is a great source of protein, iron and even some creatine. Any lean whole protein source is where the majority of a bodybuilder's protein should come from - supplements should always remain that, supplemental to the whole foods.

For mornings and nights before going to bed, mixed protein is optimal. In the mornings, 1-2 eggs and 3-4 egg whites is a good choice. At night I like to have a serving of casein and some whey mixed in it - whole protein sources at night have a bad tendency to keep a person awake, and the protein doesn't become available until some time into sleep. If you can't go with powders, milk, cottage cheese or plain yogurt would be good options.
