everyday you see some kids that are "bigger" than others, but you dont see half of them fat!. so are all the fat people in texas!? (no offense to u texans)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because of all the unhealthy eating options that are out there such as fast food like the previous person stated!. To answer your other question, Texas most likely has a larger overweight population because it's a bigger state which means bigger cities which means more fast food restaurants and candy stores and more sources to unhealthy food!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
well from someone who lives in Texas!.!. I should be offended but I wont because as I look I see " fat " people in NY,Cali, Washington, Florida etc!.!.!. the cause of obese people is the lack of motivation to get there AZZ of the couch!. Parents wont make there kids put down the remote control on the video games and get involved with sports or just run and play out side!. As I type on this computer, this is also the biggest culprit in people being obese!. Kids and adults have become so complacent and so tied to technoloy that to actually move the entire body has become a chore!.
Fast food is another culprit!. We live in a fast paced society and there is no time for Family and family dinners!. This is where healthy eating has gone to the birds!.
So yes people have become "fat " but just not in Texas as you so blindly see but all over!. Next time sit out in the park and really look and see people for what they put forth not how they look!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1!. Evolution of electronics - video games, computers, music are a lot more advanced than they were 20 yrs ago!.
2!. Parenting - many parents drop children in front of the television for hours, instead of having them go out and play kickball or steal the bacon w/other neighborhood kids!.
3!. Fast food - when I was growing up I got to go to McDonald's once every two months!. Today, kids have Chick-fa-la one day, Taco Bell the next, then Panera's etc etc and so on!.
**no one is forcing the fast food down their throat, but someone is providing kids with the $$ to buy it!.**
4!. Economy/Govt - If children are lucky nowadays they'll have two parents in the household, but in order to pay a mortgage both have to work full time jobs and don't get home early enough to make a well balanced meal!. If a child is from a single parent home its even more strain to have a healthy meal!.

well I'm from Houston, and I've wondered about this too!. I only see a few overweight kids in my school, and there are 4,000 kids in it! Houston is supposed to be either the fattest or the second fattest city but there are not many fat kids where I live! I don't know where they all are!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Junk Food, look in your area, how many fast food restaraunts are there!? Probably more than is needed!. The availibilityof fast food and the marketing of it during prime time shows could be blamed!. But it could also be poor diet knowledge, lack of exercise, and a lot of excuses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
