What are some things I can do for better leg health?!


Question:

What are some things I can do for better leg health?

My knees constantly pop when I walk and when I get up from sitting down or get out of bed. They feel tight and sometimes I can tekk my circulation isn't good because I get cramps in my calfs. I was told to see a Sports Medicine doctor and take some over the counter stuff called condroitin. I am told walking would do me some good also. Any suggestions? Oh... when I squat down... I have to hold on to something to pull myself up. I don't feel like my knees can support my weight. Any suggestions?


Answers:

See a physical therapist for exercises to strengthen your knees. Glucosomine/ chondrotin may or may not help; some people swear by it. Lose weight if you need to and walking will help everything. Oh yeah when you get home from work, put your feet up higher than your heart for 1/2 an hour. You can also wear support hose for the circulation thing. Your legs won't feel as tired.
