Start by eliminating useless calories like fast food, white flour, and sugar.

Replace all your bread with 100% whole wheat. Add lots of fruits and veggies to your diet. Meats are fine in small quantities and without creamy or greasy sauces.

DON'T eliminate all fats, your brain needs a small amount to function properly. Use good fats but use them sparingly (olive oil is great for you). Get a can of olive oil pan spray for cooking stuff.

If you don't want to fuss with figuring out calories, etc., and still want to lose weight at a rate of about 2 pounds per week---you might want to try Weight Watchers online. That's what I used to lose a lot of weight and I kept most of it off. Unlike diets where you drop a ton of weight really quickly, this diet works better to reshape your eating habits. I've done Suzanne Sommer's diet, Atkins, etc., and WW Online was the only one that really helped me keep the weight off and change my long-term eating patterns.
