i disagree with the weaning!.!.!. i tried it!.!.!. it did not work!.

i am 108 days sober now and the ONLY way i was able to escape the hell of drugs was a detox (you won't need detox if you are solely using cannabis) and in-patient treatment!. i left behind all of my old 'friends' because they were not supportive of my decisions!.!.!. if your friends are, that is great!. if they respect you, they will support you and not throw it in your faceWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you really want to quite then you need to stop hanging around with people who use!. Then you need to fill the void with something healthy/positive like exercise or a hobby!.

Imagine your bad habits being old furniture you decide you are going to get rid of!. You can haul all the furniture out to the garage but unless you replace it with new furniture you will soon need a chair and then a table and before you know it all the furniture (bad habits) are back in your house!.

Good for you for realizing the need to quite and wanting to live a more healthey lifestyleWww@Answer-Health@Com

i know people who have the same problem, what sometimes works is changing the frequency of your smoking, 'weaning' yourself bit by bit to smaller amounts till you actually find you don't need it anymore!.!. it will be hard but just be determined!.!. and you should quit anyway, too much smoking of cannabis has some bad long-term effectsWww@Answer-Health@Com

I still smoke but I don't do it often!. When there is a party, yeah I'll do it but when I'm just hanging out with friends I don't!. It takes a lot of will power to stop doing something!. I would suggest taking little steps like what I do at least for a few months and move on to not smoking pot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First see how many hours you can go without smoking!. Then try to beat your record and see how many days you can go!. Then weeks, months, and then you're done!. If you fall off then just stop again and try to beat your record!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

eat some cold turkey!.!.!.that should helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

Consult a physician!. Most people who have smoked for a long long time can find themselves having symptoms of withdrawl, yes even for cannibus!. Withdrawl is a very serious side effect if not controlled!. If it's bad enough the doctor might say that you need to be weened off of it as opposed to going cold turkey; however, cold turkey is the way to go with most addicting habbits!. You usually set a stop date on your calendar and that's the day you're smoke free forever!.

Second do NOT reward yourself by saying "Yeah! I'm two weeks smoke free, let's smoke a bowl!." All that will do is make you feel like smoking is a reward, but smoking should be viewed as a punishment!.

Third you cannot hang out with people who are smoking, especially in the initial quitting process!. You will either get a contact buzz and/or they'll convince you to smoke too and then you'll have to start from day one all over!. It's a game of will power and you should be stronger than a piece of greenery!.

Fourth try to find someone to quit with!. They can be your supporter and you can be theirs!.

Finally if you smoke before/after a certain event (parties, football games, dinner, bedtime, etc) find another thing to do in place of it!. Whether it's chewing on a life saver, playing horseshoes, or going out to a certain restaurant you need to change the habbits you've fallen into that enable your smoking!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
