Better self-motivation?!

Question: Better self-motivation!?
I went to the doctor around March and was told that I was just a little too big given my height and the weight I was at!. It's not even obesity, but if I don't control it now I'll have major health problems later so I'm gonna' bite the bullet and start now!.

I'm 19 years old, 5'7 and 175 lbs!.

I need to have better self-motivation!. I know I wont see results immediately but I need something that can help me get by till I see those results!. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stay positive going towards this goal!? In the end I wanna' be back to 135-140 lbs!.

Also, are there other forms of cardio work I can do besides running!? I know running is best but I have pretty bad knees and ankles from sports in high school and is there anything else I can do that'll have the same effect as running the miles I used to be able to run!?

Also!.!.!.just curious, after lifting I usually don't hit my sorest day till 2 days afterwards!. What can I do to lessen the soreness!?

Thank you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Good job! Out of the hundreds of people who ask about weight loss you are the only one that I have seen approaching this in the right direction!. Out of all of the ones I have read I think you will probably be the only one who attains their goal!. What you are trying to accomplish is mostly mental probably about 90 percent!. First off you don't need to run to lose fat!. You need to do low intensity cardio keeping your heart rate around 130-150 for about 45-60 minutes 6 days a week!. When you work out your body burns energy from different sources:fat, muscle, stored energy!. When you do high intensity cardio your body burns most of its energy from stored energy and very little from fat!. You can burn fat this way but it takes longer!. What you want to do is low intensity cardio because the ratio is much different your body will pull most of its energy from stored fat!. You need to eat a well balanced diet drinking lots of water all day!. Eat veggies, fruits, whole grains, lean meats, low fat dairy and you will be taken care of nutritionally!. Remember this is a life time change your making something you will have to do forever!. GL if you have any more questions feel free to e mail me!. BTW try jump roping it burns just as many calories as running plus its better for your joints and body overall than any other type of cardio!. If you can jump rope non stop for 30 minutes than your in pretty good shape!. Try and get a speed rope see if your knees can handle it!. Take care friendWww@Answer-Health@Com

You can try doing some sports like basketball or tennis !. !. !. And a little tip !. !. !. Please let your body rest like for a day after you work out, because your muscles will sore!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Motivation is a hard creature to find at first, but after about a week it seems to creep up on you!. I put a small excel calander with dates for three months on my fridge, when I make it to work out, I color a day, that way I can see my progress and I can also see my lapses!. One trick that has helped me is to put on my gym clothes right when I wake up, so after I eat breakfast, I am already dressed to hit the gym!.

For cardio, have you tried the elliptical machine or the procore machine!. The elliptical is just like running but no jolting of the joints at all!.

For your soreness, do you try to strech your muschles out before a workout!? Maybe you might be pushing it a little hard at first!. My gym people tell me to do cardio and lower body, on Monday, cardio and upperbody tuesday, rest wednesday, and then start again, cardio lower, cardio upper, and rest!.

Good luck and be proud that you are at least starting on this adventure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
