Question: Should i avoid bananas today!?
hello! i am trying to lose weight(14 years old)!.!.so i have decided to be healthy and not use any pills or whatever!.!.my plan is eat a 1000-1200 calorie diet for 6 days and then on the 7th day, i only eat fruits and veggies!.!.then the cycle starts again!.!.iam supposedly on the 7th day today cuz i am starting today but what foods should i avoid!?!.!.no bananas!?!.!.shucks!!.!.i know no potatos!?!.!.anything else!.!.thanks! will this work!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hope this plan works out for you, although its best to get a wide range of nutrients in your diet, (carbohydrates, protein, vitamins etc)
On the fruits and veggies day, try making little adjustments to what you eat, say for breakfast you have strawberries, apples and bananas, try adding some yogurt and seeds on the top, for added protein!.
Same applys for lunch and dinner, add protein to your veg, such as kidney beans, chick peas, brown rice etc!.

Bananas are a great source of potassium, which is very important in maintain the body's water balance, normal blood pressure and nerve transmission, they are also very high in Folic acid!.
So have all the bananas you want because they taste good and they do you good to!.
Although watch out for old brown ones because they have a high GI which means they wont fill you up, look for ones with brown spots or green tips on the end, those ones are better and have a lower GI!.

If you're going to eat fruits and vegetables, which are very good, why would you want to avoid any of them, unless you don't like them!? (I still don't care for lima beans, so I don't eat them, but there are plenty of other vegetables I do like at eat)!. Personally, I think 1200 calories doesn't seem like enough!. It wouldn't be enough for me, at least!. I eat at least 2000-2500 a day!.

Bananas are good because of the potassium content, but also because they are nice and sweet and portable!.

A potato is a vegetable, so why not eat it!? I rather like them baked or boiled with some organic ketchup or Smart Balance spread!. My husband stir fries them in olive oil and I add some salt and ketchup to them and they are much better than french fries in both taste and nutrition!.

I suppose your plan will work, but I'm not sure how healthy it would be!. Stick with whole, real foods, including bananas and potatoes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bannas are good food, and your 14 you shouldt be worrying about your weight unless your like severly over weight, which i doubt you are!. If you want to loose weight jus go play outside, sports, or soemthing at 14 you should NOT be dieting!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stop!!! READ THIS: Consult your mom and dad about dieting and have them consult your doctor!. Cause all these diets that you are reading about and thinking that there good are designed for adult bodies that are fully developed and your 14 you still have some developing!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bananas are a Perfect Protien, nutritionally speaking, and high in Potassium which is good for heart function and absorption of Phosphorus, necessary for bone health!. I reccomend getting boxes of Emercen-C and tke four packs a day!.!.!.it's a fizzy powder multivitimin that you can take in water!. Tastes great, is REALLY easily absorbed by the body because it is in a liquid suspension!. Pills often get only half or 2/3 digested passing through the body!.Forget about the Seventh day thing, stick with your 1200 *minimum* calorie intake and hit the gym! do moderate strength training to develop healthy muscle tone, get into Aerobics to develop Cardio stamina and reinforce your strength training!. Talk to your Gym teacher, see if there is a program after school or during the summer in the gym that will allow students to come and work out!. If not, check with your local Boys / Girls club or the community Rec!. Center!. There will definately be someone there who will be thrilled to spot you on weights and help you define and start a training program that will help you achieve the results you want!.
Keep in mind that 1200 calories is a minimum caloric intake!.!.!.Go to GNC and ask to see the chart that sugguests the intake for individual standards!. It is typically by the Protien shakes and supplements!.!.!.!.You are but 14 and your height and weight ratio will define what your caloric intake ought to be!. 1200 is the minimum you may need to KEEP yourself at a healthy weight!.!.!.you may have to take in a bit more to prevent your body from catabolizing it'self!. YOu will also want to check your body fat ratio to maintain a healthy zone!. Women carry more necessary water weight than men do!.!.!.!.try talking to your school nurse, other girls who work out; your gym teacher ~ you are surrounded by wisdom, you need only refine the way you look for it!.!
