Question:
With the rising popularity of eating organic, what are some tips for those with limited cash? Smart Organic?
I want to eat healthy and there are fresh markets and Whole Foods stores around, but some are pretty pricey or don't provide organic options, what are some thrifty ways to eat healthy?
Answers:
Ogranic doesn't necessarliy mean better. Just because your bananas may be organic, they still more than likely are traveling from Peru. Focus more on local produce if possible. It is not necesary to buy ALL things organic. Organic means pestiside-free, and there are a general list of foods that are more affected by pestisides than others. Any green leafy veggies, bell peppers, apples, cherries, strawberries, are going to be affected more so than any root veggies, as they grow under ground (think potatoes, onions, carrots, yams, beets).
