Question: What is the best way to "cleanse" yourself!?
I've been hearing a lot about "cleansing" diets, etc!.

LOL LOL I love this question cuz i get it at work all the time!. They work great, they really do, but it's all up to you what kind of program you wanna get!. My suggestion would to be get like a 7 day cleanse that has a night time and daytime formula!. Make sure that whatever cleansing product you do get, replaces the bacteria that it flushes from your body!. Acidophilus is something that you should look for in the ingredients and try to get something that has a natural flush!. Like psyllium seed and things like that!. but all in all they work but there aren't going to show "drastic" results but it will be a great great great aid to your goal :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is really no basis in fact for detox diets regarding their claims!. Obviously many of them involve healthy practices (eating vegetables and fruit, drinking water and cutting out harmful chemicals in drink, smoke etc!.) but the reasons they are healthy have nothing much to do with the claims and they also involve some unhealthy practices!. If you want to "cleanse" yourself you simply have to adopt a healthy diet and exercise routine and continue it along with getting enough sleep!. Your body will adapt in no time with none of the damaging, muscle wasting effects of the typical detox diet!.

A healthy diet means getting all your fibre, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and trace elements as well as having the correct balance of carb/fat/protein and the correct types of fats in the correct balance as well as keeping well hydrated!.

You're a vegetarian and I haven't read up on nutrition in a long time so I won't try to tell you exactly what to eat because I'll probably forget some of the specific things you need to do when catering for vegetarianism!. You probably know yourself at this stage anyway!.

Aside from that, the general rule of thumb is to eat a lot of fruit and non-starchy vegetables to cater for much of your carbs, fibre, vitamins, minerals and trace elements or phytochemicals!. If you weren't vegetarian I'd recommend a certain types of meat but here's where you'll have to use the healthiest possible alternatives!.

So that's the basics of a healthy diet!. I don't mention cereals, dairy etc!. because the only reason we believe them to be crucial to health is because of the food pyramid which was not based on anything other than common knowledge!. This knowledge in turn was based on what we have eaten only since the agricultural revolution 10,000 years ago - coincidently the same time that we can see evidence of chronic disease/syndrome X emerging!.

The hunter gatherer diet that we adapted to over hundreds of thousands of years (as a species - obviously before that we could argue that it didn't change much either) is still the only diet that renders far more of every vitamin and mineral that we need (save for two special cases that are only a problem given our modern lifestyles of absence of sunlight and acid-loading diets) as well as the precise balances of carbs, protein and fats (including the precise balance of types of lipids)!. In case you're wondering, the reason we live longer than hunter-gatherers now is because of hygiene, immunology and medicine!. Our health when alive is far worse though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are really interested in cleaning your system, I would suggest cutting out chemicals:
1!.) Smoking
2!.) Drinking
3!.) Caffeine

Cut out common food that is bad for you:
1!.) Processed food
2!.) Heavy cream based food - Icecream!.

Replace this with
1!.) Herbal teas
2!.) Lots of raw food such as fruits and vegetables!.

The importance of herbal teas is that they supply a lot of anti-oxidants!. Vegetables and fruits do also!. The importance of eating raw food is that the fiber will clean the digestive system!. Actually something mimicing raw foodism could help a lot!.

the master cleanse, ive never tried it but i did see it on miami ink one time!. i guess it doesnt taste that bad either

Lots of water, vitamin c and e, that seems to do the trick!. But if you are talking about one of those weird colon flush things - forget it!. I am not gonna pay good money to have some clown put a hose up my whatsit - yuk!Www@Answer-Health@Com
