How come i crave carbs after i work out?!


Question: How come i crave carbs after i work out!?
Every time i finish a work out i crave carbs, specially pasta and Quiznos sub sandwiches!. so badly that i have to have one or the other and end up feeling really guilty!.
has this happen for any one else!?
how can i stop craving carbs AFTER i work out!?
i try to work out in the morning, or when i first get up and i can't eat anything before i go!. i think should also let u know that i'm lactose intollerent!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you burn energy, and carbs are the fastest way to replenish that lost energy!.
What I do to stop the craving after excersizing is I drink TONS of water!. I don't really drink during workouts, unless i'm really parched and i'll just take a sip!. after my excersize i'll drink water and get filled up on that!.
Also, if you've just started seriously working out, its ok to kinda make up some of that carbs because you'll feel so very very hungry!. eventually, if you stick with it, you'll learn to control that and your body won't feel like its missing out as much!. thats when weight loss really starts to happen!.
If you can't take the water thing, try a protein shake, or even rice cakes!. Rice cakes won't really fill you up, but it might satisfy your oral craving to chew and have something crunchy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your source of energy while working out is muscle glycogen!. Carbs help to restore your glycogen levels!. By ingesting carbs postworkout you can prevent the muscles from goign into a catabolic state (muscle breakdown)!.

Try eating something before you workout!. Even a piece of fruit will help!. Your body has been starving all night and needs some fuel/Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eat more protein before you work out!.
If you are burning off more than you've taken in, your body will crave what will energize you the fastest!.
I love carbs abd it is hard for me, but drink lots of water while working out, that keeps your tummy feeling full but seriouly-eat the proteins next time!. Eggs, meat, Special K Protein Cereal!. Just make sure what you eat has more Protein tahn carbs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your body actually needs the carbs the most after you work out!. Try having a Recovery shake with a 4 to 1 ratio of Carbs to Protein!. No need to feel guilty! Your body is only asking for what it needs!.

It's no surprise that you crave carbs!. Carbs are the easies source of energy!.
Try a pack of instant oatmeal - it sothes your stomach, while providing some carbs but not excessivly high in calories!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
