Answers:

My name is Sarah too. I'm trying to lose about 10-15kgs. I'm not over weight, I'd just like to be a bit smaller.

I suggest taking out all fizzy drinks and juices. Drinking only water and low fat milk.

Have a good breakfast. Breakfast is so important.

When snacking in between meals only have fruit and veges. Eg apple, carrot sticks

Eat lean meat. No junk food.

Tell your mum to remove all the junk food in the house and go shopping with her to the supermarket. Maybe she would like to join your healthy eating plan.

Don't join a gym. It's a waste of money and you'll probably never go. I suggest going for a walk everyday at least 30minutes. Map out a route and complete it. When you feel like that is getting easier you could jog every so often. Don't push yourself though. It's best to go slow and steady and you'll lose the weight & keep it off.

Don't avoid carbs as someone said above me. You need them. Carbs give you energy and they DO NOT equal fat. The three groups of food are carbohydrates, protein and fat. You want to remove as much fat as possible. Protein isn't bad but the average person gets more than enough. So if you're removing fat and protein, the only thing left is CARBS!

There are good carbs and there are bad carbs. Bad ones are fizzy drinks, chips etc. But some carbs like sweet potatos are good for you.

Also go swimming. The resistance of the water will make you work harder and you'll burn more calories. If you cant swim go aqua jogging.

The most important thing is to limit the bad foods and increase exercise.

Don't expect any quick fix. You're weight didn't jump on you over night so don't expect to wake up one morning and it be gone.

Good luck
