Is my body telling me I need rest? or should i workout today anyway?!


Question: Is my body telling me I need rest!? or should i workout today anyway!?
i feel so horrible!. not sick, just extremely horrible!.my head hurts soo bad, i took 2aleves and nothing has changed!. and i just feel like curling up in a ball and not talking to anyone for a very long time ha!.

i dont know if its just because i had an emotional day, or if i just am really tired and my body is telling me i need to rest!.

im 17, 5'5'', and 125!.
ive worked out everyday this week (my week starts on saturday) and i have ran 3-4 miles daily, 100 crunches, 30 minute pilates, and 2 days I did the machines for my entire body (shoulders, back, arms, legs, thighs, butt, abs)!.

so i workout decently!. and i always eat between 1200-1400 calories!. mostly its been 1200 these days though!.
so today ive had 680, and ill have another 500 for dinner to get me to 1200!. thats it!.

should i workout!? is my body exhausted from all this working out!? or is it just drained from this day!?

im taking off friday so if i take off today thatll be 2 days this week!.!.not too good!.

Most people will tell you to stop because you are doing 10x what they do!.

I enjoy working out and the days I don't feel like it I usually go anyway and once Im done I am glad I went!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't overdue it!. You can take 2 days off, and its probably a good idea if you are tired!. Its ok to rest!. Injuries are more likely when you are tired!.

Sounds like you should just take it easy, watch a movie, drink some water and take a break!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Working out releases endorphins in your body which is a natural pain killer and makes you feel good!. So if you can hack it, I say work out lightly!.
Alternatively, I'm a huge advocate of listening to my body!. It hasn't done me wrong yet!. Hope you feel better!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your body is really tired because you're not eating enough! Even when exercising, you still should consume 2000 calories!.

You should still workout, but maybe just run and do crunches, or the pilates!. Not both!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you need a rest - you need it!. Your body and mind have to recover - you are actually supposed to rest in between workouts - so I would say give yourself a break!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

only you know if you shouldnt work out today!. if you think your body is telling you to stop and take a day off, do it! but sometimes if you have had an emotional day, working out makes you feel better!. but still i'd say just take a day of rest it won't hurt!. and i think your weight is perfect for your height, i'm the same height and i weigh 140 and i'm trying to get down to your weight!. i use a website that uses a balance chart to show me how many calories i've burn and how much weight i'm expecting to lose!. it's easy to use and instead of counting in your head how many calories your eat and burn you can use the food journal and cardio/strength training journal!.

if you've just started to work out that is some very drastic work for your body!. even if it isn't, that still looks like a lot -- working out 5 days out of 7 is great!. the average person probably doesn't even work out that much in a month!.

if you want my opinion, i think you should take today off!. be sure to work out tomorrow and then rest on friday so you don't have two off days!.!.!.you might start to slack off!.

read a book, watch some t!.v!., or if you really feel guilty about not exercising, go for a walk!. relax!. :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think that you should rest today and eat a lot of protien and fat, because your mucles will need energy to grow and repair them selves from the strain!. your body will need sufficent rest if you want to strenghten it!. the advice about eating fat may sound wierd, but it will help provide energy to burn and you will find that you have less energy because of the workouts!. you may also be felling more emotional because of a lack of energy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First you might need to increase your calories if you are doing that much exercising!. Most likely you need more than what you are getting!. You can figure out your BMR which is what your body needs daily without exercise, and then you need to refuel the amount you burn from exercise!. At the end of the day, you need to at least eat meet that BMR or your body's metabolism will slow down!. (this could cause you to feel extra tired and exhausted!.!.!.etc)

Figure out your BMR

Then figure out how many calories you are burning exercising

Finally, add those two totals together!. That is the minimum amount of calories your body needs!. Because you are exercising, it is the equivalent of only eating your BMR calorie amount!. At this you most likely will loose weight, so you might have to even add more and or adjust to maintain!.

It sounds complicated, but it really isn't as hard as it sounds to figure out!. Good luck
