I wanna loose 27 pounds . . . . FAST!?

I'm 13 and my BMI is 25.1 which is NOT good!!! I really really wanna loose 27 pounds so my BMI is 20.1 but I don't know how. So how can I loose 27 pounds really really really really FAST?!


Answers:

What is the rush?!? 25.1 is slightly high, but recent research has shown that a little extra weight actually INCREASES life expectancy. Not that you're worried about that at 13, though.

That being said, healthy weight loss is 1-2x/week. So, there's really no way to lose 27 pounds "really really fast." Just won't happen. What is the obsession with a 20 BMI? I don't understand the significance.

But if you want to lose weight...
1. NO JUNK FOOD! no fast food, regular soda, high fructose corn syrup, trans fat, etc.
2. Eat healthy! Whole grains, lean protein, low fat dairy, LOTS of fresh fruit and vegetables, lots of water.
3. EXERCISE! Probably the last thing you want to hear, but arguably the most important. Go for a walk or hike, ride your bike, swim, just get out and move!
4. LIMIT SCREEN TIME - don't just sit around in front of the TV, or video games or computer. Use that time to get outside.

And at 13, your body is still changing...give it some time.
