What is a quick way to get in shape?!


Question: What is a quick way to get in shape!?
I weigh almost 300 lbs!. and have recently developed some back problems, which seem to also be affecting my knees and ankles!. I can't do anything "productive" for longer than 10-15 minutes at a time!. But I might become a parent soon to a very active four year old, and I need to be able to keep up with him!. I've got a month or two to get into decent "parenting" shape!. Any suggestions!? I know I won't be able to run a marathon with him in that short of a time, but if I can at least be able to pick him up, and participate in SOME of his activities, that would be a start!. I've got a long road ahead of me, and I have no illusions about that!. But I've got to at least be able to parent this little guy for now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would suggest walking as a simple start!. If you can only do 10-15 mins at a time, make an effort to go on many small walks throughout the day, gradually increasing the duration as your body gets used to it!. Walking, although simple, is great exercise because it improves the circulation of your entire body!. Make a goal of walking a total of an hour each day!.

Cycling is also really good because it is a low impact exercise, it will allow your knees and ankles fluid movement without stressing them!. You can use a bike outside or an indoor machine!.

I also highly recommend weight training, even if you have to wait a few weeks after walking or cycling to start!. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burns at all times, while you're resting and while you're exercising!. You'll also see a great improvement in just a few weeks!. It may be a good idea to join a gym that you are comfortable visiting regularly, as they will customize a workout for you and help you plan goals!.

It's awesome that you want to start moving!

I would start with walking briskly for a few minutes!. It's amazing how quickly you will be able to improve from just walking, to almost jogging to running one day!

I got a cheap elliptical machine from Walmart too that is very low-impact and good for everyone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You do have a long road ahead of you and its good you realize that!. As you know, there is no 'quick' way to get in shape!.!.!. So you are just going to have to start dieting like crazy and exercising as much as you can!. The weight will start to come off after a few weeks, but these things take time, so just be willing to give it time!

1!. Eat healthy
2!. Workout

And please, please, please, please make sure your son lives a healthy lifestyle (even if you choose not to)!. Don't damn him to weigh 300 pounds!.

Lets face it, the old saying "no pain no gain" comes to mind here!. You need to cut out that junk food, and stop snacking!. Keep to three meals a day, if you feel hungry, then eat nuts or fruit to keep the hunger at bay until meal time!.

Try to do as much cardiovascularvascular (things that makes your heart beat fast) stuff as you possibly can, try walking to work (ifs its not too far) or cycling, but *don't* go mad, and dont expect things to happen right away, results take about two months of dedication!.

Look into a device called "power plate" use this in combination with your cardio, and try group activities to gain motivation from others!.
