Is there such thing as low calorie carbohydrates?!

Question:

Is there such thing as low calorie carbohydrates?

or does my question contradict itself?
bio is seriously not my strong point :)

Answers:

Carbohydrate--not the food but the actual carbohydrate in the food--all has the same amount of calories per gram. Four calories per gram. A gram of protein is the same four calories. Fat has 9 calories per gram, which is why food that's high in fat has a lot more calories. Alcohol has 7 calories per gram.

Now there are all kinds of carbs--sugar, starch, veggies, etc. Vegetables are healthier because they have other good stuff besides carbs. Complex carbs, like pasta, bread, rice, etc. are better than simple carbs like sugar, soda, candy, etc. because they take time to release into your bloodstream. But a gram of carb in pasta is the same as a gram of carb in white sugar.
